Recovery from Breast Enhancements

Once the surgery has finished and the surgeon has stitched up the incisions you will need to ensure that your breasts are firmly supported with a sports bra. Your surgeon is probably going to advise that this should remain in place for twenty four hours a day for anywhere up to three months. If the stitches you have are not dissolvable, you will likely have to return to the hospital and have them removed around one week to two weeks after the surgery.

The recovery time attributed to breast enhancement surgery will depend on your overall health before and after the procedure. If your general health is good then the recovery time could be a lot faster than it would otherwise. With only a couple of nights in hospital in most cases a lot of women are able to return to work within a few weeks depending on the job at hand (more physical jobs may require a longer time to recover first), though physical exercise must be avoided for some time. Recovery time could also depend on what kind of stitching your surgeon has used (they will need to be removed if they are not dissolvable). You will discuss with your surgeon when you feel would be the best time to return to your daily routine.

As with breast augmentation surgery on its own, you may find that your breasts feel tired, firm and swollen following the surgery. This is not of concern as this is normal and will eventually settle down, ultimately healing as they start to feel more natural and comfortable. After some time you will begin to see a noticeable difference and movement might start becoming easier, though for several weeks you should avoid anything too strenuous as there will still be some soreness. After this period swelling will start to disappear and your breasts will feel less painful to touch.

In the case of any discrepancies during the recovery time such as bleeding, intense pains in the chest area or if there are any issues with your heart beat then you should contact your doctor immediately so that this can be checked on.
