Am I Suitable?

With cosmetic surgery procedures it is always a good idea to have realistic expectations in mind to avoid any disappointment. This does not mean that you need to have low expectations; it merely means that you should not be striving for the ‘perfect look’.  Instead you should be aiming for what surgeons call an ‘improved appearance’. If this is what you seek, then you will be much happier with the end results.

Age is another factor that can be considered with cosmetic surgery. Though there is not a specific age limit to undergo breast enhancement or other breast related treatments, a lot of surgeons would prefer not to perform breast enhancement surgery on anyone under the age of around sixteen. The reasons are reasonable and easy enough to guess – anyone under this age is still growing and developing therefore you should wait until your breasts are fully formed before you resort to cosmetic surgery.

Beyond these, there are a number of other factors that should be taken into account when considering if you are suitable for breast enhancement surgery. These are one of many reasons you will visit your surgeon for consultations prior to the procedure. One factor involves health issues as these must be taken into account when you are having surgery. Therefore medical conditions and history must be discussed with your surgeon or else you could be putting yourself in harm’s way when it could easily be avoided. There are small risks involved with all surgeries so ensuring that your surgeon knows everything about your physical health history will make you safer and help to ensure your procedure, and also your recovery time, goes as smoothly as possible.

If someone wants breast enhancement surgery, there are a number of reasons this could be the case. They might find that their breasts are too small resulting in a lack of confidence and a difficulty in clothes that fit around the waist as well as the bust line. They might suffer from asymmetrical breasts or they might feel that their breasts have been affected by factors such as age, gravity (after pregnancy for example), weight increase/decrease or breastfeeding.

Prior to your surgery, you will also have conversations between you and your surgeon concerning preparation for the procedure, ensuring you are in a physical position to undergo it. As a result you might be advised to avoid certain medications as well as being told to make sure that your wishes are realistic.
